Founded by Robert Merz, The Merz Agency was a family-owned Brokerage General Agency in the Pacific Northwest. 

On July 1, 2021 long-time employee Steve Santos took over the company and became The Santos Agency, DBA Merz Insurance Services

On April 18, 2023, The Santos Agency was acquired by Arthur J. Gallagher (NYSE: AJG), one of the world’s largest consulting and risk management companies.
 
Our new firm, GBS Insurance and Financial Services, is part of the Life and Annuity Brokerage division.
 
This change has provided us with a greater opportunity to back our services with better tools and resources than ever before. Through this relationship, we have added even more industry-leading knowledge and capabilities to our brokerage services
